Coming to Know Him

In my early adult life I came to realize a very important fact--it was not enough to know about the Lord; I needed to know Him.

As I began to seek the Lord I was troubled by the situation among Christians. Firstly, the lack of oneness among the believers and secondly, many professed to have His life but where was the living out of this life in their daily living?

In 1975 I went to a meeting of the local church that changed my life. I attended a Lord's table meeting in Washington D.C. Could these people be for real? They were so genuine, so full of joy, as one by one they stood up to share what they had experienced of Christ during the week. In this meeting Christ was the unique center.

Several months later I had the opportunity to visit the church in Houston, Texas. I was invited into many homes; I heard many testimonies. Most importantly I saw a living that matched what they professed. This spoke to me louder than the words in their meetings.

During this time I had a deep registration that this was what the Lord was doing on the earth today. There was a practical expression of Himself on the earth in so many cities, with believers meeting together in oneness with only one goal--to build up the Body of Christ.

I am full of much gratitude and appreciation as to where the Lord has placed me. For the past 24 years I have been under Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry. The revelation in the Bible has been opened to me. I have been encouraged to pursue the Lord and to allow Him to grow within me for the building up of the body Christ.

To Him be all the praise and all the glory. Amen.
